Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

The Hokey Pokey (Ry's version)

This video belongs with the story below. My computer is playing tricks on me and didn't put this one with the other one. So here it is. I will send updated ones when she does her moves better in front of the camera. She is sometimes "camera shy"( I think maybe stubborn describes her better)!

Ryleigh's Moves

Well, we are all getting tired of the cold weather here in MN and are looking forward to some nice spring air. Yesterday was deceiving as it looked beautiful outside but there was a cold chill, this morning was nice, but now it's starting to cloud over and get chilly again. We are all tired of being inside and are desperately awaiting when we can hang outside. Ryleigh is learning all kinds of new things. With all the plastic Easter eggs laying around she has learned some colors. She knows blue, purple and sometimes green, but gets red and orange mixed up. She is learning all kinds of new moves. She loves the itsy bitsy spider; if you're happy and you know it; head, shoulders, knees and toes; the hokey pokey and many more! Any new rhyme or song that has moves in it, shes all ready to learn it. Check out the videos of a few of them, she doesn't do them as well as when we don't have the camera. Whenever we pull out the camera or the camcorder she suddenly refuses to smile or do anything, but once she does see herself on video she loves to watch herself over and over!! It's pretty cute!

Family Photo

Here are a couple family photos on Easter Sunday.

Happy Easter

This Easter we spent inside as it was snowing all of Saturday and into Easter Sunday. The Easter bunny came sometime during the night and hid eggs for Ryleigh, she found them all, but it took a while as she realized today some were filled with candy and some were real. She had to open each one, eat a piece of candy and then off to the next one. She was especially excited when the Easter Bunny brought her one of her favorite movies: Barnyard, so we have watched it 3 times today and know what noise every animal makes. Ryleigh also got to see her first baby chick this morning at church and was delighted to pet it......and pet it.......and pet it!!!!!! Yesterday we colored easter eggs, and then Ryleigh decorated them with stickers. We were scheduled to go to an easter egg hunt also, but due to the snow it was cancelled, so we made our own fun inside. We had easter dinner with all the folks, Jason made a wonderful ham and we had lots of other food.

Welcome

Thought I would give this "blog thing" a shot as I got the idea of doing it from my sister-in-law. She makes it look so easy and fun...............and it's great to see pictures of my niece, so I thought I would give it a try. I will try to keep it updated with pictures of Ryleigh as it is a cute way of letting everyone see her grow. She is so much fun right now, learning how to talk and mimicking everything Jason and I say or do. She is a pretty good dancer and has learned to get her "roll on". I will have to get it on video and see if I can get it posted someday. Other than that, Jason and I are busy with work. We are having Easter at our house on Sunday with family. The Easter bunny is all ready to come. Ryleigh fits into her Easter dress from last year (it's just a little shorter) so she will wear it again as it is so adorable. It will be Jason's first Easter with Ryleigh as he was in India for work last Easter. Jason, Ryleigh, my parents and I will be heading to CT and NYC here in a little over a month to visit my brother and his girlfriend, Kelli, who live in CT. We are getting excited for that and trying to get everything lined up. It will be Ryleigh's first airplane ride, hopefully it will go okay. We have lots to do and see on our list while we are there. Should be fun!!
