So the ice castles were in Eden Prairie this year. I thought they looked really neat on the website and so, when I heard about them last fall, I decided to make it a part of our winter bucket list, especially since winter gets to be so long! Well, this winter wasn't the best winter for them here in MN. The winter has been crazy up and down with freezing temps and then warm temps. So, its had a lot of melting snow and slippery moments. Lets just say, the people leaving reviews on the ice castles made lots of complaints and negativity. Now, what do you expect when walking through an ice castle, yep, it's probably going to be a little slippery and cold. So, we decided to go for it. Met up with some friends and although it wasn't what I was expecting, it was neat and the girls enjoyed it, so that was good! Of course, this years "theme" revolved around the movie, Frozen (I often wonder what they did prior to this movie as the ice castles have been around for a number of years), but we got to see Elsa, so it was fun (the girls informed me on the way home, that this wasn't the real Elsa, she was fake!!) Here are a few snapshots from the ice castles. You can tell which pictures are from my phone and which ones are from my camera. We had viewed the castle during the daylight hours and then went out to eat and then went back to view it during the night with the LED lights. I didn't feel like taking my camera in there at night when it was more slippery, so the night time photos you get from my phone!!
