"Beachy" Weekend!!

Yes, it's supposed to say "beachy", that's not a mistake....................but it was a peachy weekend as well!! I was trying to be creative!! It was kind of ironic and I just noticed it about an hour ago, but everything Jason and I did this weekend had something to do with wishing it were beach weather. Finally, Friday, Ryleigh was feeling good enough to go with Landree to daycare! It's obvious by looking at her that she was sick this week, but she is doing great, and I almost thought Landree was getting sick too, but she is doing well today, so that is good. First, on Saturday, one of our friends who moved away to Sioux City, IA was in town visiting for her birthday.....................HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTA!! It was good to see her as it's been almost a year since she moved there. And isn't life just crazy, Jason and I go through Sioux City on our way to Nebraska all the time. It seems like when we are traveling and with two little ones, it's just easier to get to our final destination as quickly as possible. Then, Saturday afternoon, I went to a "beach themed" surprise baby shower for a friend of mine who is due in a couple of weeks (but looks like she could pop any second....and feels like it, too)! It was a lot of fun. We played a game and when I won, I was being silly and asked what my prize was... I did get to wear a nice straw hat! Landree came with me to the baby shower, but not Ryleigh as she had been sick all week. Plus, she slept the entire time I was gone anyway (3 1/2 hrs), and that was much needed sleep that she got. Then, when I got home, my parents were here, went to church with us and then babysit the girls, so Jason and I could go out to eat with friends. And, although we went to a Mexican place, I was pretending I was drinking my VERY strong margarita on a beach in Mexico!! Ryleigh, ironically, got a new book in the mail called "The Ocean"...........that was kind of funny too. Then today, Jason's dad and Terri brought us a picnic lunch. We camped out in Ryleigh's playroom/office on a blanket and ate a picnic lunch with the blinds open and pretended to be at the beach looking out into the beautiful water. It looked like it could be warm outside today, but it was cold. Ryleigh never did see the "boat" or the "fish" jump out of the water. In fact, I think she thought we were all crazy. It was fun, though. At least we aren't in Garden City where it was blizzarding this weekend........or up in Fargo where the Red River is flooding. I haven't heard from our friends that live in Fargo, but I am praying they and their house are staying dry. So, that was our "beachy" weekend.



I forgot to mention Landree's 3 month stats: she weighed in at 12.2 lbs! Ryleigh continues to weigh in at 28.8 lbs...........which has been consistent the past 6 months. Speaking of 6 months, this week marks Ryleigh's six months of not wearing diapers. If you want to get real technical, 6 months with not wearing diapers and being potty trained during the day. About 2 months into that she started wetting during the night and wore pull ups (which, technically are the same as diapers), but now has been pull up free and potty trained both day and night for 2 months now!! Yay Ryleigh!!!

Oh, funny story and then enjoy the slideshow below. So, I went grocery shopping alone (thank you honey) and when I got home, Ryleigh met me at the door asking for "a surprise". Well, I didn't get her anything, but I did get some Easter eggs, so I gave her one package of them and then she was off playing with them. Jason and I were making supper when Jason went to check on her. Then Jason said, "Heather, you have to come see this!" So, I went over there and Ryleigh had two eggs stuffed down her shirt. It was so funny so I, of course, grabbed the camera! She also wanted to listen to Landree's heart today with my stethoscope. You can tell, a few of us have used one on her this week!! Okay..............and I am taking off Shea, because you said too and Sarah, because I am blocked. So, that is why you two are not on my friends and family list anymore. Love you both!

Looooooong week!

It amazes me how kids can catch things so quickly. One day I have Ryleigh running around, acting like her normal toddler self and the next day she's sick as a dog. Of course, we have been pretty lucky with her, this is the first time she has run a temp except when she was teething as a baby. And she hardly ever gets sick. She woke up Sunday morning with this "bark like" cough and a low grade fever. I thought maybe she had finally caught the "viral bug" everyone around here has gotten so, since it was my first full week back to work, Jason stayed home with her on Monday and Tuesday. Both of those days she had temps that we could never get below 99 until Tuesday evening before bed it was finally 97.4, I was shocked so I took it again only to get the same thing. So, I was pretty happy until she woke up almost every couple of hours during the night with this icky cough. Both Monday and Tuesday she was acting herself, playing, not eating too well, but drinking and by watching her, you'd never guessed she had a fever or wasn't feeling herself. Well, Wednesday morning she came into the bathroom where Jason, Landree and I were getting ready for the day. She was shaking and red and when I gave her a hug she was burning up, so I took her temperature which was 105.2. I got her in a tepid bath which immediately dropped her temp down to 102.9. We had been keeping the girls apart all week (which is killing Ryleigh) so not to get Landree sick. So Jason brought Landree to daycare and I called the clinic to get Ryleigh in to see what was causing this high temp. Of course, her Dr. had the day off but we got in to see a pediatrician. When we got to the clinic, not even 20 minutes after calling them, Ryleigh was lethargic and had a temp of 104.9. I had thought I heard her wheezing on Tuesday afternoon, but when I listened with the stethoscope, her lungs sounded perfect. So, no ear infection, no strep throat, no UTI, no nothing until we got the X-Ray back which showed right upper lobe pneumonia. They wanted to hospitalize her but she started perking up at the clinic and after Jason and I discussed it, we decided she'd be better off at home with us. She is doing much better today after we have been forcing fluids. I just checked her temp before she laid down for a nap and it is at 98.9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, she has finally been fever free for 6 hours. And, she is back to her ornery self, she just looks like a brand new little person today, so I am glad we made the "right" decision. She has also been asking me for different things to eat and I have been fulfilling her requests.........and her cough is less than it was yesterday!! She even got into my lotion while I was taking a shower and insisted on rubbing it on my back when I got out............which was great. I think she used about half of the bottle, but it was so relaxing and she was having fun and didn't want to stop. She must of felt bad since I canceled my 60 minute massage that I was going to get yesterday afternoon! LOL!!!!!!

Landree, on the other hand, is doing fabulous and growing like a weed. Last evening, I was getting her ready for a bath and I blew some raspberries on her bare tummy and she giggled......it was so sweet....it was her first full out giggle where you could see her tummy and rolls shake! She is doing pretty good with her bottles at daycare and is taking good naps there, so that is making this transition a little easier. I think she is really missing Ryleigh, too. They gave each other big smiles this morning across the room.

The weather was beautiful here last Sat. reaching 70 degrees, but has slowly gotten colder as the week has gone on. It was rainy on Monday and Tuesday and in the mid 50's, yesterday when Ryleigh and I left for the clinic it was snowing and was at 32 degrees. Today it is sunny and chilly.

I am going to work on getting some pictures and videos downloaded in the next few days if I get a chance, but I just wanted to get a little update posted.

Happy Birthday to another sweetie I know.....miss Brea Lynn! I hope you had a wonderful day. I stole this picture from facebook and I just wanted to mention, I had to get creative as I was looking for a picture of you alone and so I cropped this one. You are a doll and so pretty......sorry to cut Ben out of the photo ;) You are hard to find in a picture alone, so that means you must be a popular one! Oh, and since I didn't get a card out to your sibs........you won't get one either, but now that I love you and have thought about you all day and hey.................you get your own blog entry with nothing else because you're special (and I don't have time to upload videos tonight *wink, wink*) LOL! Happy Birthday Kelli & 3 months old!

Happy Birthday to my soon to be sister-in-law, Kelli! Hope you had a wonderful day! Can't wait to see you in about a month to celebrate! Hope you are having fun with your parents and not missing Ryan too much..............yep, my brother is out to sea, again!

Landree is 3 months old today......I know I've said it before but, my how time does fly! She did good at daycare this week. Jason and I did a little experiment one day with her bottle taking. Since she was getting ticked one day, we thought maybe the nipple speed was too slow, so we tried a faster speed, which didn't work. Well, on Thursday she wasn't taking the bottle so well, so Cindy tried the same thing and it didn't work for her either, Landree had gotten to much, to fast and threw it up. But on Friday she had a good day, took two naps and took 5 oz. at a time at feedings, so that was good. I, on the other hand, have been exhausted from my first week back at work! Landree has also been sleeping awesome at night! She has been sleeping 7-8 hours at night, but on Thursday night she slept 9 1/2 hrs straight!!!!!! I hope that continues to be the trend.

We had some friends that came to hang out today. Adam and his fiancee, Angela came from Sioux Falls, SD.......also Ryan & Lila (we missed Ana), and Paul. The guys hung our cabinets in the bar area in our basement and then since it was gorgeous here today, we spent the rest of it outside and for supper grilled brats and deer meat. It was a lot of fun! It was nice for the girls to get some fresh air. Ryleigh had fun with Angela, having her draw animals all over the driveway with sidewalk chalk. Our driveway now looks like a zoo with wild and tame animals all over it.....she is quite the artist! Our company from out of state will leave tomorrow. Lila is getting so big and we enjoyed seeing her as well, such a cutie and loved it when Ry sang to her!

Longest 8 hours!

(Landree's First day of Daycare)

Well, I went back to work today and it was the 2nd longest 8 hours of my life. It seemed to drag on and on! It was nice though.......they had all kinds of goodies to welcome me back, a huge sign and balloons! And, every time I checked on Landree, she was doing good! She ate and slept good! Of course, it helped me knowing that she wasn't all alone and had her big sister there, watching over her like a hawk! This evening could have gone two ways........1) Landree could have been mad at me, not taking my nursing since I had been away from her all day or.....2) Landree could have been happy to see me, and nursing well b/c she missed me! I am pleased to say it went well, in fact, better than our usual evening! It all started with me getting a huge grin from her when I went to get the girls! I also wanted to thank all my friends and family who put me on their "thinking of me" list and gave me a ring or email, I appreciate it!! I think Landree did better than me! I also got a very nice compliment from Cindy (daycare provider)! She said that Landree is such a good, happy, content baby!!! Now, you see why it was hard for me to leave her! Anyways, I did so good and didn't shed one tear today. I was close and they were in the corner of my eye, but they didn't fall. I found when I was thinking of her or talking about her, if I just kept swallowing real fast and changed my thoughts, the lump disappeared and the tears stopped forming. Well, I am glad the day is finally over because I haven't been looking forward to it since December 21st! Now, I just need to get some new grooves going, especially in the morning. Thank God Jason was around to help me get them ready, thanks honey! I am going to end here and get some pictures hopefully posted tomorrow!

Happy St. Patricks Day!!

Just wanted to dedicate this "holiday" to some family members whom are Irish.................yes, I guess I can actually say, "KISS ME, I'M IRISH!!" and it counts! My Grandma is Irish. My dad's middle name is Patrick and both my brothers first and middle name are Irish...Ryan Patrick! Ryleigh is also Irish and means courageous and brave!! Anyhow, the girls and I had a fun day on my last day of my maternity leave. We went to the park again for an hour. It was a little more windy and chilly today, but still better than freezing weather and much nicer than the 40 degrees that we are supposed to see tomorrow. Landree was fast asleep by the time we hit the edge of the driveway on the way to the park. I think she enjoys the fresh air! Ryleigh and I had fun playing tag and chasing each other down the slides and such. She was darn near perfect today and yesterday for me, just threw her two year old fits when Jason came home from work!! I am really not looking forward to tomorrow, but I have everything ready to go, I even have Landree's outfit ready. I am especially not looking forward to getting up at 6 am as Landree and I love to sleep in! Ryleigh has been doing awesome at night with toileting. She has been dry for almost the past 4 weeks when getting up and since Friday night has worn "big girl underwear" to bed without an accident. Yippee!! The girls and I did sport our green clothes today and I did get pictures, but I will post them another time because I am going to hit the hay early tonight.

It's beginning to feel like spring!

What a great past few days weather wise! It hit 67* here today, was 61* yesterday and is supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow! It was so awesome because the girls and I went for a walk and seriously spent 2 hours at the park!!!!! Ryleigh is wearing a hat of mine, but it looks so much cuter on her. Going to the park with two kids is quite amusing for the first time alone. It wouldn't have been so bad, but Landree got mad at first because the hat I had on her kept getting in her face and the wind was blowing so I kept trying to re put it back on her, then Ryleigh wanted me to lift her into the swing. Then, before we left for the park, I made Ryleigh sit on the potty, but she kept telling me, "mommy, I don't have to go". Then about 40 min. after playing at the park, she said she had to go, of course, the bathrooms were locked so she learned how to squat and pee like we were camping. It was quite funny and luckily there wasn't anyone else there when she had to go because I am sure it looked quite funny with me teaching her how to pee in the wilderness! So, it was quite the funny adventure, but once Landree fell asleep we were smooth sailing. I also had windows open in the house today. I am sure we are still in for one last snowstorm, but at least now I know it will melt the next day!! Some boys were having a debate at the park of whether or not we would get anymore snow. Living in MN, I am sure we will!! We didn't get to hang out outside yesterday as much, as Jason and I went to get a crib for Landree and to get Ryleigh fitted for her flower girl dress. My parents tagged along (in a separate car), so that mom could help me with Ryleigh and then so they could take the girls so we could get the crib in our vehicle. We were trying to be smart to make the least amount of trips up to the cities, however we still needed to special order the crib, so we came home empty handed with that. Thanks so much mom and dad for spending your day with us! We love you! I did pick up my bridesmaid dress and am so excited that it only needs to be hemmed!! The crib won't be here for another two weeks. Jason also got my bicycle carrier put together and I didn't know this at the time, but it can also be used as a stroller, so now I have a double stroller!! Of course, it is not compact, so I will not be using it at the mall, but it will work outside and since it's supposed to go on a bike and is meant for faster speeds, I can use it as a jogging stroller too....yippee!!

I love reading some of the blogs out there that have the funny things there kids say as "isms" on the side bar. I never thought of doing them there, but since a "Ryleigh-ism" happens daily here, I will just mention them in my posts. There are so many more since the post in January, out of the mouths of babes! We went grocery shopping this weekend as it's been three weeks and we were OUT of food. Jason picked up some jelly beans (not fair, since I gave up candy for lent). Well, they were sitting up on the counter and Ryleigh saw them and said, "mommy, can I have an oval, please?" We have been reading a lot about shapes recently and so she associated the jelly beans as ovals. Hilarious! The videos I have posted are finally of Ryleigh doing a push up for everyone. The only way I could get her to do it was by asking her to show me how, and when she still wouldn't, I pretended to do them in different, funny ways and so then she finally showed me! The other video is where she tells us her full name as well as the names of her family members and where she lives. You will have to turn the volume up to hear that video as she wouldn't look at the camera and so it is hard to hear it! We are trying to teach her her address and phone number, too..........but as you know it takes time with a toddler, especially one that can be stubborn. She probably knows them, but is keeping it secret from us and then one day, she will just announce it to us! We went and visited the preschool this morning. It is really neat and it is where she will eventually go to school regardless of whether she starts this fall or next. She had fun, held the teachers hands and even played with the kids.....just took her two seconds to warm up and she was good. She even stayed in the room with the preschool class while I got a tour of the rest of the school. If and when she goes to school, it will most likely be the school that she will graduate high school from if we still live in Mankato! So, it was fun to see.

Landree is doing well. She loved being outside today after a while and actually fell asleep in the stroller at the park, which was nice because I got to spend some quality time with Ryleigh. I've been trying to get Landree to nap in her pack-n-play since that is what she will nap in at daycare, but today I cuddled her up and took a nap with her and I will do the same tomorrow. It has already been a tough week and I am not looking forward to Wednesday. I am sure today won't be the last time I bawl this week :( I've finally got Landree's evening routine down to a T! I just needed to learn that she likes to chew us out for about 5 minutes, then likes to know we love her and then...likes to be laid down awake with her fist in her mouth!! I wish she would take her pacifier better, not that I am a big fan of them, but my cousins at XMAS pointed out something....it's easier to get rid of a pacifier than the thumb........so true. Luckily Ryleigh didn't like either of them!! Hope you all enjoy the videos and photos.

Lots and Lots

Wow, have I been lazy with blogging!! Actually, I have been enjoying my last full week home with the girls. I am so sad to be going back to work next Wednesday :( It will all be okay, though. Jason and I were looking into preschools for Ryleigh this fall, and we will make our final decision on Monday after Ryleigh and I go for a visit. We went through the list of things that they do at the preschool for 3 year olds twice a week for a couple of hours and we realized she does all that stuff and more at her current daycare 5 days a week for many more hours. Next year however, I think she will skip preschool and go straight to what is called Kindergarten bound. I did speak with my daycare provider as well and this next fall she will only have 6 children, 3 of which are Ryleigh's age and so she is putting a little "preschool curriculum" together for them as she will be able to focus on that this year, which is pretty cool.

It has been very cold this week here in MN. It snowed on Tuesday and was so windy, it was blizzarding. Luckily we only got about 2 inches of snow, but it blew all night long. Finally, yesterday and today we have seen the sun, which has melted most of the roads, except for it is still way below freezing. It was 2 degrees this morning when I woke up. BBRRRR!! But, it is supposed to get to 45 this weekend and 50 next week!!

Lately, Ryleigh has been using me as her own personal jungle gym. Last evening, I was trying to get her to get off of me and when I turned my entire spinal column popped, which felt really good. But, about an hour later my shoulder was in so much pain, it had to be from her climbing on me. It bothered me all night and at first I couldn't hardly fall asleep. It is doing much better today after my steaming hot shower and stretching. It is the arm that I carry the girls in, so every time I pick one of them up, I can really feel the pain. Hopefully this pain goes away soon.

Ryleigh is doing well. She is getting pretty tall. She has been consistently weighing in at about 28 lbs. Her feet are growing as well. I put some shoes on her that I bought in October and they no longer fit her. I am glad I got her tennis shoes a little big, because she still fits in them. It still amazes me at how quickly they grow and change. She is a little chatterbox...talks all the time. Sometimes, I wonder where she learns the things that come out of her mouth. And, wow, you better be careful what you say around her.....even when you think she is not listening, she is!! She has been a pain, but very cute at bedtime, milking every minute she can with her daddy. She will ask him for me when she is all done with him, to sing. Her top two requests lately are Twinkle, twinkle little star and Amazing Grace. I love it, too, because she sings with me and it cracks me up that she knows the first two verses of Amazing Grace!! She is also becoming quite the pro on her prayers, she can say the one at mealtime pretty good and we love asking her if she wants to pray because she will fold her hands and just start saying it without Jason and I helping her. I have to get all this on video, too! She has been quite the klutz this week, falling three times. She's got bruises and scrapes everywhere....poor kid!

Landree is growing like a weed, too and getting stronger every day. A few weeks ago, I was wondering if she was getting enough to eat b/c she didn't have "cankles" like Ryleigh did at that age. Well, I think my milk supply just needed to get stronger b/c of the recent cold and bout of mastitis that I had. She definitely has "cankles" now as well as a couple of donut rolls around her thighs!! I think she might be going through a sort of growth spurt to, because she is eating almost every two hours today as well as two times during the night last night. This is weird because for two nights straight before last, she was sleeping 7-7 1/2 hour stretches!! She has been hitting her rattles while in her bouncy seat too, with her fists. I am not sure if she is doing it on purpose yet, but she sure gets a kick out of herself when she does it. This morning she fell asleep in her bouncy seat so I didn't dare move her, but I needed to take a shower, so I locked the dog up in a different room and went and took a shower quick. Well, she had woke up while I was in there........and it wasn't even a long shower............and had gotten herself almost slid out of her bouncy seat. So, I have learned a valuable lesson here............it's time I put her seat belt on when leaving her out of my sight in the bouncy chair. I have been doing it already in the swing b/c she likes to lift her head forward and I can just see her toppling out when it's swinging. No harm done though, she just looked at me and smiled when I came to check on her. Since she likes to look at her little world, Jason and I got the jump-a-roo out and she enjoys that, too. She is in love with Ryleigh, who can get her to smile and "talk" all the time. The girls are sitting here with me right now, and Ryleigh just sat down next to Landree and said............"Look at my two girls, I love my two girls!" Now, you can see what I say to them both when cuddling with them. Bottle update: Landree has taken a bottle every day this week without problems. Two days, we made a visit to daycare and she had two bottles from her without problems, so I think my theory about the evening was right!! And thank goodness, because I have over 200 bags of milk for her to have at daycare!! I am pleased to see her take my milk from someone else without much fuss about it, because it was the total opposite with Ryleigh when I went back to work after having her. She refused to drink my milk from anyone other than her daddy for awhile.

Basement Update: It is primed and ready to be painted. Jason and I sat down last evening and finally decided on the colors we want in every room. I have pictures up to this point and am trying to organize them into a slide show to post. It is amazing at how different it looks since we bought the house almost three years ago!!

Grandma Update: Grandma is doing well. She wasn't doing so well there for a while, but things have really changed after some medications were discontinued. Like I have said in the past, she is very sensitive to almost all medications. She did pull a bookcase onto herself which resulted in a bruised shoulder. She is very ornery, so they moved the bookcase out of her reach. I think it's a good sign that they need to keep a better eye on her!! My mom got to talk to her on the phone the other day and they had a wonderful conversation, so that was good. She is not walking and is in the w/c quite a bit.

Other exciting news: My long lost pen pal from the 1st or 2nd grade has found me after not having contact with her in the past 7 years. So, welcome to the blog, Cami!! I am so excited to get back into contact with her. Our history: when I was in the 1st or 2nd grade (she probably remembers the grade better than me), we got assigned pen pals. Well, we wrote each other from then until about 7 years ago. She was in Brazil on a mission trip and I was moving all over the place. We have never met but had always continued to be writing buddies! I have thought about her often over the years and was so excited to get a message from her sister on facebook with her email address. Come to find out, she has a blog and has two children, pretty much the same ages as mine. It has been so fun to catch up with her and I hope we stay connected for many more years to come. Welcome back into my life!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW FUN!

The Weekend

We had a pretty uneventful weekend besides getting some snow on Sunday.......UGH!! It didn't amount to much so no worries. We did make it out to Target for some diapers and milk storage bags, but other than that it was pretty much a "stay in the house and watch movies" kind of Sunday! It's been a while since we have had a Sunday where we were just lazy. Usually we are working on the basement but since it can't be worked on until after today, we couldn't do anything with it. Jason and I did work on our budget and all that "fun" stuff after the girls went to bed. Saturday was a good day, my dad has been in Neb the past two weeks for work, so he was having a "Ryleigh, Landree withdrawal", so, my parents came over on Saturday and hung out. Other than that, nothing else much is new. Landree is getting stronger and stronger every day. The past couple of days she will lift her head forward when sitting in her swing or bouncy seat. She definately likes to see what is going on in the world around her. She is sleeping long stretches at night, so thats a plus. She is pushing herself half on to her side when on her tummy, so I am thinking it's not going to be too long until she rolls over from stomach to back. She LOVES looking at herself in the mirror and giggles and smiles at herself. I think someday I am going to have trouble getting her out of the bathtub as she enjoys that as well. I am a little worried about how she is taking a bottle, but I think I have that figured out. When I had my cold and mastitis, I strictly nursed and since then when we offer the bottle she gets fussy. I decided today to try a bottle during the day instead of in the evening and she did wonderful, so I am no longer nervous about that as she is going to daycare next Wed and I was getting nervous she wasn't going to eat. I think in the evening she is just tired and wants to be close to mommy and not deal with anything else.........at least that's what I am hoping. Ryleigh is doing good as well. She had a little run in with the corner of the wall on Saturday while playing with daddy and has a nice little cut above her eye. She let us put ice on it, so there was no swelling or bruising....thank goodness. For a few months now, she has been in pull ups during the night. It was like she regressed a little because when she first potty trained she was not having hardly any accidents at night, then she was waking up wet every morning and I was getting tired of washing bed sheets every day, but for the past two weeks now, she has been dry every morning. She has occasionally been waking up during the night, though, to tell us she has to go to the bathroom. Which is okay. She told me yesterday that she is a big girl and goes potty in the toilet now at night and she said she didn't want to wear "diapers" any more to bed. I think I am going to finish the package of pull ups and if she is consistent with staying dry until they are gone, then we will go back to the underwear at night and pray I don't have to wash the bed sheets EVERY morning. Cross your fingers! :) Also, in MN if a child turns 3 before September they have the option of going to preschool in the fall. I am waiting for the info to arrive in the mail. From what I understand about the info given over the phone, she would do there what she pretty much does at daycare now, so we might just wait until next year.....we will see after I get the info in the mail. Ryleigh and I go to visit the preschool on Monday morning, also, to check it out! It is only a 2 day program for three year olds that goes from 8:15-10:45am! I can't believe she is at the age to start thinking about school already.............it seems like just yesterday she was as tiny as Landree. Well, I am going to go get lunch ready for Ryleigh and I........later this evening or tomorrow, I will post a slide show of the basement as it will be finished with texturizing today!!! YEAH!!!!!

Updates and Photos

It's been a busy week here as usual! I attached a slide show of recent photos taken from last week and this week. Some are of Landree's baptism. UNFORTUNATELY, I didn't get to take pictures with everyone that came to celebrate, but I guess that is how life goes, so I am trying, in this Lenten season, to not let it get me that upset. Yesterday, my mom had a half day at work, so she tried and did get the whole day off and spent it with me. It was very nice, as she and I haven't been able to do that yet since Landree was born. It was a fun, relaxing day! She found a dress for Ryan's wedding and I hope she decides it is "the one" because it is absolutely beautiful on her, despite what she thinks. Anyhow, we went out for lunch at the Olive Garden.......one, because Jason doesn't like the Olive Garden and........two, because we don't really eat out that often anymore. We got to sit in the little bar area in the corner practically all by ourselves that way I got to nurse Landree. It worked out swell, and it was nice and peaceful for mom and I!! Other than that, our basement is almost ready to be painted. The guy started his work on Monday and most likely wont finish until Monday (that is the day scheduled for texturizing). It is so exciting to be at the point of painting it, it feels like everything is coming together and for a good price ( I guess that's one good thing about the slow economy, people have time to do side jobs for a good deal--like our basement)! I have pictures ready to go, but I am going to wait to post them until he is finished texturizing the walls and ceiling. The weather has been beautiful as well. This is the third day where it has been above 45*!!!! And we have more on the way this weekend as well. Other than all that, I have cried every day this week as my time at home is almost up. I go back to work on the 18th which is less than two weeks away and I just don't want too, I want to stay at home, but in order to pay the bills and for other things, I have to go back. Well, not really much else to update. I wanted to get this post finished before the girls wake up from their naps and I hear Landree waking, so I'd better get going. Happy 18th Birthday Haley!!

Happy Birthday to one of the sweetest gals I have ever known, Haley Rae!! My how time flies! I cannot believe you are 18 already. Sorry, since I didn't get a card to your bro or sis, you only get a blog entry too, even though I am more organized now than I was a couple of weeks ago! :) I hope you have a wonderful day despite all the mishaps you've encountered this week...........your car..........your phone. Darn snow and ice (and toilets)!! LOL! Anyways, it was great to see you at "xmas"! Hoping you guys make it to Ryan's wedding cuz I know then, I will have a couple of great babysitters!! Congrats Matt and Andi!

Congrats to my cousin Matt and his wife, Andi, on the birth of their first child, a boy, born this morning at 4:54 am! His name is Carter Hunt and he weighed 6 lbs, 14 oz and was 19 in long! Also, Happy first Anniversary. What a cool anniversary gift to each other, a healthy baby boy! I am so excited to hear all the details and to meet him! Oh, and by the way he is a doll, from the picture on the blog!

The girls are doing good. Ryleigh is really ornery lately with bed and supper time. She had what was her first dream that woke her up and needed our attention. She had been asleep for about two hours last night when all of a sudden she started screaming, "mommy, daddy." So, I ran in there so she wouldn't wake up Landree and she started saying, "there is a frog in my bed!" I tried explaining to her it was just a dream, and Jason showed her there were no frogs in her bed and then she was fine and actually asked us to please turn off the light. The funniest part was before Jason got up there, she was saying to me, "mommy, get the frog out of my bed, geT iT ouT!" (notice the emphasis on the letter T)!! It was so cute and she didn't remember a thing this morning. Landree is doing well, eating up a storm today, smiling all the time. She likes looking at herself in the mirror and was smiling and did a sort of giggle at herself tonight. It was cute. Well, I just wanted to post a congrats to Matt and Andi, so I am going to go for now!
