Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

Ryleigh's 1st Piano Recital!!

Ryleigh has now been in piano for 4 months and she had her first piano recital on May 19th! She did so good introducing herself, but told me afterwards that she was nervous. She has been practicing these pieces at home and had them perfected but her nerves got a hold of her a little. I was so proud of her. There were many people in the audience...I would have been intimidated, but she did great! She played by heart with no music on her two pieces by herself, then she did a duet with her teacher. There were some pretty amazing kids and for being learners, I was shocked at how beautiful the recital was . Afterwards we enjoyed cookies and punch with her and she was excited to have most of her grandparents there! My little girl is growing up!

Ready to go!

Mothers Day

I got to spend Mother's Day with my girls and my Mama (as well as Jason and my dad) We grilled and hung out. It was nice and relaxing. I got roses for mother's day along with a gift Ryleigh made me at school! Best Mothers Day yet!

Fun with neighbor friends

We always have so much fun with our neighbors. Here are the girls playing in the bounce house!
Look at Lou's hair!

We were trying to get a picture of the hair.....everyone's was standing
perfect until they got out. So this is the best we could get!

Girls Club - End of the Year - Party

Ryleigh was in a girls club this year at school. Once a month, the grade school girls joined the high school girls for fun, friendship and the list goes on. Landree and I joined Ryleigh at her end of the year party for Girl's Club! We dressed in our jammies and did lots of fun stuff. They had a craft area, a salon area, a cafeteria where they served chicken noodle soup and other snacky items. It was "Nemo" themed. At the salon, there was hair and face painting. At around 6:30, we all snuggled up in our blankets and pillows and jammies and watched Finding Nemo. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures (now these aren't the greatest quality...I used my phone camera):

Waiting to get their faces painted.

Ryleigh's turn

She picked about three different things to have done

Warmth...and Puppy Love

In between the last two snowfalls, we did get to experience some warmth:

Snacking outside with the neighbor boy, Henry.

This picture cracks me up. I have no idea what Henry is looking at, but
it better be crackers!! ;)

We also drove a couple of hours down into Iowa to pick out our new puppy! He is a black lab and by this Saturday he will be 8 weeks old and weaned from his mama! He is a tank and we have been working hard the last week and a half trying to come up with a suitable name. I think we are 100% sure on what it will be, but just in case, you will have to wait til we get him home to hear it!! Here he is at 6 weeks old:

It's a boy!

Love his little white patch under his lip!

Reese and big boy

He's won my heart! Oh, but he'll be work!

Will post more when he comes home this Saturday!

Bridal Showers!

April 13th brought my mom, the girls and I to Nebraska to celebrate two brides to be! My cousin, Jena, who will be getting married at the end of August and my cousin Brittany who will be getting married at the beginning of August. August will be a busy month for us! Anyhow, we helped host the bridal shower for my cousin, Brittany! I will be a bridesmaid in her wedding and Ryleigh is going to be a flower girl! It will be so much fun! Here are some pictures from Brittany's bridal shower. I was hoping to get more, but we had to slip out the back door as both bridal showers were taking place at the same time. If you notice Brittany holding her hand funny, it's because she had a little accident a few weeks ago and her hand went through a glass window. The girls had a really fun time, because they got to help her open gifts as she was kind of able to only use one hand. Poor girl.....hopefully she gets all her feeling back as she still has some missing.

I also got my dress fit and am all ready to go for this wedding. All I have to do is order Ryleigh's cowgirl boots and we are ready to rock and roll!! This wedding is going to be beautiful, I got a sneak peak at bouquets and decorations. Can't wait!!
